Business Supermarket ’GYOMU Japan’and Megumi no Sato Open First Stores in Singapore

G7 INTERNATIONAL PTE.LTD., an international operations arm of G-7 HOLDINGS, Inc. of Kobe City, opens on April 1, 2016, a Business Supermarket ‘GYOMU Japan’and a Megumi-no-Sato store in Singapore operated by BB&G-7 RETAIL PTE. LTD., a G7 INTERNATIONAL PTE.LTD. joint venture with a local company.

Business Supermarket ‘GYOMU Japan’, a franchise chain launched in 2000 by franchiser KOBE BUSSAN CO., LTD., has since grown in the number of stores for 15 years in a row, cashing in on its unique low-cost operation, efforts to develop “6th industry”businesses, imported products sold under the distributor’s original brand, and the across-the-board best-price practice. The chain of supermarkets for retailers has grown into a nationwide chain with over 720 stores.

Of all Business Supermarkets ‘GYOMU Japan’, 120 stores are now run across the country by G-7 SUPERMART CO.,LTD., one of the G-7 group companies and the largest mega-franchiser of Japan.

Megumi no Sato, a local chain of direct sales outlets focusing on agricultural products, purchases fresh, safe, anxiety-free and healthy foods from farmers who pick them earlier in the morning, serving consumers by not paying extra for middlemen.

The first overseas Megumi no Sato store opening in Singapore follows 21 outlets in Japan. The Singapore store will sell a wide variety of products, including vegetables imported from Japan, fruits and other agricultural products, and select products from both countries.

Both Business Supermarket ‘GYOMU Japan’and Megumi no Sato stores in Singapore are located in Big Box, one of the largest local warehouse stores and a very popular one, which opened in December 2014 in JurongEast, western Singapore. Warehouse stores are self-service retailers located in warehouses and other large facilities serving consumers with discounted prices and no long waiting in line for cashiers.
